Over the last three decades American culture has undergone
a substantial transformation. Historically “traditional”
values have been replaced with values that diminish
human life, celebrate sexual indulgence, and deny
the authority of God. The changes have been embraced,
promoted, and taught as truth by the cultural giants
responsible for shaping our culture, and frequently
sanctioned through the nation’s political and
judicial processes.
Generally speaking, the political and judicial proceedings
that have established such practices are obscure to
the average American citizen—including Christians,
for whom the cultural changes have been particularly
troubling. Except for a relatively small number of
Christian “activists” who immerse themselves
in the process of self-government or attach themselves
to a particular issue, most believers have only a
basic awareness or understanding of the issues. Voting
in local or national elections is their most concrete
involvement in our democratic process of governing,
and even that is done with a minimum of understanding
and familiarity of the issues and candidates.
The two main reasons for Christians’ ignorance
are a lack of information and a lack of time. Broadly
speaking, with families, jobs, and church involvement,
most Christians do not have time to educate themselves
about critical cultural issues. Even if they had the
time, most would not know where to look or how to
keep current with the development and progress of
issues in the culture, or in legislative and judicial
institutions. The result is that many concerned believers
have a sense of frustration and a feeling of hopelessness
as they are increasingly marginalized and are forced
to watch the culture endorse increasingly extreme
behaviors.
Christians find themselves living in a culture overrun
by forces that have thirty years of momentum on their
side, and a generation of legal and legislative authorities
who do not recognize the God of the Bible. Culture
Campaign offers Christians the opportunity to participate
in the process of self-government—and to do
it together. Culture Campaign makes it easy to stay
informed and to inform others by delivering timely
information to a growing community organized through
relationships which empowers the average person to
make an informed, meaningful contribution to the process
of self-government.
